As of the last available census, Kashele had a population of 2875, in 576 households, a modest number that hints at how recently this belt has begun drawing serious residential interest.
For years, Kashele's identity was tied to weekend escapes rather than permanent addresses. Looking ahead, the story of Kashele is closely tied to the larger transformation of the Panvel-Karjat corridor. The Panvel-Karjat Railway Corridor is a suburban railway infrastructure project under the Mumbai Urban Transport Project, designed to enhance railway connectivity between Panvel and Karjat in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. As this and other regional upgrades take shape, localities like Kashele that once sat at the edge of the map are steadily being pulled into the everyday commuting and investment radius of Mumbai and Navi Mumbai.
